- Embracing health information technology: Electronic health records (EHRs) can promote patient-centered communication. For example, EHRs can reduce the time it takes to access patient history, leaving more time for the patient. - Improving documentation: Documentation is a requirement of nursing practice. Keeping up with EHR technology can enhance documentation as a communication tool.
